As I am writing this note there is an ongoing investigation in a hospital in New York, where a gunman entered the hospital and killed one, wounding another six (6) and then turned the gun on himself.
It is understood that a doctor whose service was terminated some time ago; returned to the hospital to carry out his attack on other employees.
This has been my discussion in certain areas for the closure of some entrances to the hospital and to increase the security personnel for the safety of the employees and their patients. This is happening at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital.
My fellow Vincentians take note and it is time for the Government to take another look at the security at our hospitals and various polyclinics.
Do not say it cannot happen in St. Vincent and the Grenadines or in the Caribbean?
