HURRICANE SEASON IS HERE

As the Caribbean Islands continue their recovery from the active 2017 season, preparations are underway for 2018 season. While St. Vincent and the Grenadines was not directly impacted by any major damages, some of our sister Islands were and are still trying to wind out of the mess. However many citizens in SVG were neglected by the government because of party affiliations.

Any duly elected and constitutional government is for all of the citizens and that will be good governance. Last year the emphasis was placed on the British Virgin Islands, while the local citizens were neglected. We hope that 2018 will not see the repeat of 2017 should our citizens are compromised by this hurricane season.

The recent elections in Barbados were as a result of gross negligence and it is in the history books. In the meantime, I urge the Administration to take all necessary action to protect the reclaimed areas around the Argyle International Airport for erosion and slippage. The approach lights which are on reclaimed land is prone to slippage if the drainage is not free of debris. Therefore, the persons responsible should ensure that all drainage have free access for run-off water.

BE PREPARED AND BE YOUR BROTHERS KEEPER THIS SEASON
