Sir Godfrey Gregg
It is another day and the operative word is work. I know hard-working families and many are in Bequia. There is not a day pass by without someone flashing through the mind. Working to provide for their family. I will not mention names but you know them. families fro the other islands migrate to find that means of providing for their homes. All my older brothers in their early life took that journey to Barbados and Guyana for that opportunity and they were successful. One, in particular, has left us with a great and beautiful family in Barbados. My nephew, nieces and their children which I hope to meet them soon. We haven’t seen each other in a few years and we are going to make up the time.
I recalled the days going up to Ma Peggy Hill to “cut wood” to burning coals. My older brothers would cut the trees and we had to get them to the house for our mother to prepare for burning. Besides we had to get grass to cover the pit. We did all that with fun and the means of surviving. I am proud of the woman I called my mother who was there all the time to protect her family. My father was a fisherman and was only home for short periods. Very soft spoken and stern. Just that look and you quake in your shoes. Such beautiful parents that the Lord took so we can be on our own. We lost that protection, but thank God they planted the seed in our hearts. Their children and other offsprings are able to withstand the tests of survival in these hard and troubling times.
My Primary School MOTTO was HARD WORK BRINGS SUCCESS. I believed it then and it has stuck with me to this day. Family nothing comes easy, and it takes hard efforts to achieve and anything in this life. You have to be dedicated and willing to commit time and effort to achieve your goals. Ask Sharol-Rose and she will tell you where she got her driving force. My daughter Sharrie has a vision and I believe that if it was not for God in her life she would not be at this level. https://www.facebook.com/Sunburst-Apartments-2064723857076970/ A full-time job, a family, a business and still find time for recreation with the children, So if you are thinking about a getaway for a few days and you want to visit St. Vincent and the Grenadines book your vacation at the link above. Lemuel and Sharol will make sure you have a comfortable stay and an enjoyable one.
When the Greggs meet they bond and like other normal families look out for each other. However business is business and we keep it real. I will be in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and we will continue the effort to build the family bridge where everyone is a Gregg.
