SVG Passport is Ranked

7th Most Powerful in

the Caribbean

NEW YORK, NY – For another year, Henley and Partners have ranked the world’s passports from most to least powerful in its 2018 Passport Index. So which Caribbean passports are among the most influential in the world? Here’s the top 8 list:

1: Barbados

Barbados continues to hold the top spot as the Caribbean’s most powerful passport. It is ranked at 21 globally.

3: The Bahamas

Taking the second spot in the Caribbean but ranking at 23rd globally in the passport of the islands of the Bahamas.

3: St. Kitts & Nevis

In the third spot in the Caribbean but ranking at 26th globally is the passport of St. Kitts & Nevis, which is available to investors globally via the Citizenship by Investment Program.

4: Antigua & Barbuda

Antigua & Barbuda, another Eastern Caribbean nation that offers a passport program to globally investors, saw its passport rank 27th globally and fourth powerful in the Caribbean.

5: Trinidad & Tobago

Taking the rank as the fifth most powerful regional passport is Trinidad and Tobago, though it ranked 30th globally.

6: Saint Lucia

The sixth most powerful Caribbean passport according to the latest Passport ranks is the Saint Lucia passport, which ranked at 31 globally.

7: St. Vincent & The Grenadines

A passport from St. Vincent & The Grenadines is considered the 7th most powerful in the Caribbean and the 32nd globally.

8: Grenada

Grenada, which also offers its passport to investors through its own Citizenship by Investment Program, rounds out the Top 8 most powerful passports in the Caribbean. It ranked at 33 globally.

The world’s most powerful passports in 2020 are:

  1. Japan (191 destinations)
  2. Singapore (190 destinations)
  3. South Korea, Germany (189 destinations)
  4. Italy, Finland (188 destinations)
  5. Spain, Luxembourg, Denmark (187 destinations)
  6. Sweden, France (186 destinations)
  7. Switzerland, Portugal, Netherlands, Ireland, Austria (185 destinations)
  8. United States, United Kingdom, Norway, Greece, Belgium (184 destinations)
  9. New Zealand, Malta, Czech Republic, Canada, Australia (183 destinations)
  10. Slovakia, Lithuania, Hungary (181 destinations)
