JUSTICE

Sir Godfrey Gregg What is justice? It is the quality of being just or righteous. Webster defines it in this way: “The maintenance or administration of what is just, especially by the impartial adjustment of conflicting claims or the assignment of merited awards or punishments; the quality of conforming to the law.” The law is meant for the unlawful to safeguard, keep order and protect the innocent. All laws are not actually equal, some actually discriminate. Quite often, you are assumed guilty until proven innocent. Today man continuously changes and modifies what is right and adjusts the law accordingly to how the masses feel. There are numerous religious, civil and moral laws within the Word. When Jesus Christ came in the flesh, He fulfilled the law. He never sinned. He overcame sin in the flesh. By doing so He redeemed us from the law. “The law was a schoolmaster to teach us right from wrong.” Galatians 3. When we accept Him as our Saviour and Lord His Word teaches us: “I will put my laws in their minds and write them in their hearts. | will be their God and they will be my people.” Hebrews 8, As believers we are supposed to live to please the Lord, His will and way 1 should be our first priority. “The Joy of the Lord is my strength.”Nehemiah 8. God is a just God. Rest assured in His time He will right every wrong. ‘When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”
