You can easily squash gossip by not passing it on. Gossips are not to be trusted. They only add fuel to the fire Refusing to listen will force the fire to burn out.
Many friendships and relationships have been destroyed by gossip. Confronting the parties involved together will or can help to facilitate healing. But it must be done in a constructive peaceful manner. This is called “Redemptive Confrontation.” Do not be so ready to make assumptions. Or when You do, readily dismiss them when You discover they are not true. Commit to saying what you know to be true. Self-control is a virtue, learn to exercise wisdom and discernment. “A perverse man stirs up dissension, and gossip separates close friends!
Learning how to control Your tongue and Your temper is crucial in living a spirit-filled life. James 1 astutely shares with us the benefits of controlling the tongue. As we employ the Fruit of His Spirit within our lives daily, we grow stronger spiritually. We grow in the grace, love and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It is important to seek to live before “An audience of One.” God is everywhere we are. Always know and remember He is Omnipresent! He loves us and promises to give us HIS PEACE in the ist of a storm.
