My God is able to keep, save and satisfy. Today I am 60 years old. I thank God and bless His Holy Name for bringing me this far. Nothing is impossible with Him and I give Him praise and thanks.
Today I want to thank God for bringing me thus far in this life. First I must thank God for those who steered the course, smooth the rough path, took my sorrows so I can rejoice. My parents tho deceased continue to play a great role in my life. Had it not been for the foundation they laid I would not be here today. I have failed in so many ways but to God be all honour and glory for His Grace and Mercy.
To attain this milestone for anyone is not an easy task and with no strength of your own. Certainly, I am weak and helpless and falls on the crutches of Almighty God. Who else can it be but God who brought me to see this day?
In this life, you have to be strong in everything you do. You need a strong family support to help you cross the many rivers, cross the bridges and climb the hills. You may have family failures, but they will make you stronger in the end. How did I get here is a question I have been asking for the last week. How did I make it to this point? Thank God for the family for just checking in on me to see how I am doing. That means so much to me and I hope they continue as I await the allotted time of three scores and ten.
To my sisters Madeline and Yvette, Sylvester my brother and his family whom I spend time with eating and “liming”. Edward my older living brother and his family. All the family, my nieces, and nephews in Canada, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and here in America are too sweet when in their presence. We all share one thing in common and that is the “Deldie laugh”.
My daughter Sharol-Rose is truly a tower of strength to me and how did I manage to have such a wonderful handmaid without her mother. She has raked the dust of love to share and no question asked but it came from the foundation that was laid. MY son-in-law and the grandkids, I tell you sure make a great crew. Lemar and Shammie are the pride and joy that help me going on day by day. Their radiance and bundle of joy together are more than a generator to power a village. If I hadn’t known what love was, the little one taught me how to respond. Many days I look at my brother Syl and how his grandkids interact with him and wow, look at the DNA.
I will not forget my church family that has taught me character and to build strength. The spiritual support and bond we have created have a lasting effect and I will always remember you. My coworkers have also, kept me busy and I am grateful to everyone for the contribution they have made towards my current age.
Today will be written in the history of the Gregg family and forever in my heart. Sometimes in life, you never know how much you have impacted the lives of others. I have been hearing that for weeks now and I believe they are all genuine sentiments expressed by all individual. The many texts and messages have been inspiring me and they will form stepping stones to the next decade. There were many negatives said about me but I have dismissed those because the energy that surrounds me is more powerful that one can imagine.
The one time in my life that I had to ask a favour at work was for this occasion and I was denied. I do not need anyone to tell me how I perform because I know my weakness and strength. Yes, I fail but after explaining why I needed the time and I was still rejected I conclude that the job will continue without me. Therefore I have reduced the percentage back to 100. Going beyond the call of duty does not help and it took me 15 years to understand the reason.
I am feeling proud of you who came out to celebrate with me. I am proud of you and thank you kindly.
From the bottom of my heart thank you and God bless you.
