More photos circulating on social media of #LaSoufriere‘s incandescent lava dome seen from the leeward side of St. Vincent on Saturday night.
Reiterating: No explosive eruption ongoing. No evacuation orders in effect.
The dome is glowing, what is termed incandescent, as the dome gets closer to the surface this will be seen on a clear night as hot lava gives off heat and is seen as fire.
No evacuation order has been given.
Prof. Richard Robertson of the @uwiseismic had advised of this as the dome gets larger.
