STOP THE VIOLENCE AGAINST INDIVIDUALS

Sir Godfrey Gregg

I watched this video last night and I really can’t believe it is St. Vincent and the Grenadines. While SVG is a Christian society, things have changed as we are in the closing days before God reigns judgement on this earth.

A person’s sexual differences do not encourage anyone to take the laws of the land in their hands to be the judge, jury and executioner of anyone’s behaviour. I see this method of behaviour as a “copycat” from Africa and Jamaica because our lazy people have too much time on their hands watching television.

There are many cases where homosexuals will make their frustrations public to cover up their own behaviour and feelings. For many decades homosexual practice was like a secret society in St. Vincent and the Grenadines which included lawyers, politicians, law enforcement, clergy teachers, doctors, public servants and the list can go on, but never this kind of behaviour.

The late Victor Cuffy would have already condemned this act of violence as President of the local Human Rights Association and I am calling on all Organizations to condemn this barbaric behaviour and assist the Police to make an arrest of all those involved in the beating of this individual. This behaviour is wrong and it must STOP. Every man has a right to live his life the best he sees fit and pleasing to God and his family.

No man should take the law into his hand to punish any individual, but due process should take its course. I am sure the Government did not authorise this form of action, but some individuals for fame on social media should dance their own music. Actions like this can plunge the country into unrest and the results will not be nice.

I am calling on the Honourable Attorney General and the Police Commissioner to make all resources available to Law Enforcement to apprehend these criminals and keep our country safe until the Courts can deal with them.

Every law-abiding citizen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines should condemn this behaviour today.
